How does TAG Bands actually work?
Each wristband has a unique QR code linked to a secure digital profile you set up. If your loved one gets lost or needs help, anyone who finds them can scan the band with a standard smartphone camera — no app, no login required. Their emergency contacts, exact What3Words location, medical information and any other instructions appear instantly. You get notified the moment the band is scanned.
Is my family's data secure?
Yes. All profile data is encrypted, stored securely, and never sold or shared with third parties. TAG Bands is fully GDPR compliant. You own your data entirely. If you cancel your subscription, your data is deleted.
Who can see my loved one's profile?
Only the information you choose to make visible. When someone scans the band they see the details you have added — name, emergency contact, medical notes. You control exactly what is shown and what stays private.
Is this the same as a GPS tracker?
No. TAG Bands does not continuously track or monitor your loved one. When someone finds them and scans the band, you receive an instant What3Words location alert so you know exactly where they are. No battery, no charging, no signal required. It works anywhere, any time, on any phone.
What information can I store on the profile?
You can store whatever is most useful in an emergency. Most families include a name, photo, emergency contact number, medical conditions, allergies, and specific care instructions. You can update the profile at any time and changes go live instantly.
